Hi y’all! If you have ever driven to Rock Hill for breakfast, it was probably cooked by this guy! Greg Collier and his wife Subrina run two of the best restaurants in town and easily the best breakfast in all of the Carolinas, The Yolk and At Dawn Cafe. In this episode you will hear about cooking eggs, diversity in the kitchen and the local food scene!
We are having our viewing party at Free Range Brewing on Nov. 6th with the social hour starting at 1-m, the viewing at 2pm and a special chicken dinner at 3pm.
Winner winner chicken dinner!
After the viewing of ep. 3, there will be a chicken dinner with 2-3 sides and cornbread, suggested $10 donation per plate, with all of the proceeds going to benefit the Community Culinary School of Charlotte! The chicken has all been generously donated by Springer Mountain Farms and students from the CCSC will be helping to prepare and serve the dinner. Chefs Marc Jacksina and Greg Collier will be preparing the chicken two ways, Marc will be doing an Alabama White Sauce and Gregg will be using a TN spice rub. CCSC students and Chef Geoff Bragg will also be preparing all of the sides. This should be a great event and we hope you can make it!
I hope y’all were able to come on out to Free Range to catch the premiere of this episode! A great time was had by everyone and we all learned a little bit about what makes the Chefs Farmer really awesome! If you weren’t able to join us you can watch it here!
Won’t you please join us on Sunday Oct.9th at 2pm ( NOTE NEW TIME ) at Free Range Brewing for the 2d episode in our 2d season of order/fire! We have a great guest of this one, Jamie Swofford! He holds the distinct title of being the only person mentioned in every previous episode! His reach is that far reaching! Jamie grows some of the most unique and special crops in the region on his small farm and hand delivers them himself to the back doors of the areas best restaurants. And if that wasn’t enough Jamie also produces shrubs under his company, Old North Shrubs. Word on the street is that he has mixed up some special order/fire event only flavors! Come on out and hear what he has to say, it is a pretty cool episode! And of course, we have an awesome raffle that will include a box of mixed produce, 2 varieties of shrub, a gift certificate for holiday pies from Milkglass Pie, a 12″x12″ hand painted barn quilt from Feba Farm, and a 12 course tasting dinner at Heirloom restaurant! All of the proceeds will be benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
